Secret To Internet Marketing Success
Article Internet Marketing Tips
The #1 Secret to Internet Marketing Success is:
Become the expert in your niche.
How?
Writing simple 300-500 word articles and submitting them to the article directories. This is an Internet marketing tip to get your web site indexed quickly and over time will build you as the expert in your field.
Don’t like to write? No problem. Outsource it. $5-$6 per article. I’ll discuss this later.
Drawing fresh traffic to your site is to take advantage of article directories which publish your articles for free. Article marketing is a slow burn strategy, which simply means it pays off long term rather than delivering immediate benefits. This is why you want to get it started right away.
Your articles will prompt many new people to click through to your site and give you a chance, but it won't necessarily happen overnight. The faster you get your articles posted, the faster you will start to see an increase in site traffic.
The Second Secret to Internet Marketing Success is to focus your articles around keywords related to your niche.
Keywords and keyword phrases are vital to your free online marketing plan, and they will be extremely important with article marketing.
Every article that you put out there must be focused on keyword terms from your list, and they must be relevant to your site. You want professional articles that use your keyword terms naturally so your articles are picked up by the search engine robots.
Until recently, the recommended method of creating articles for the directories was to do some research into your keywords and then write a relevant article that included the keyword(s) a certain number of times-this was called writing to a particular "keyword density."
Typically, these articles were to be around 300 to 400 words, and a certain percentage of those words would be the keywords. Generally, most people aimed for a density of 3% to 5%.
Today, this is still the most used Internet marketing strategy, but it’s now necessary to take it one step further.
Articles between 300 and 400 words are still acceptable and you still need to make your keywords and keyword phrases the primary focal point of each article.
The Third Secret to Internet Marketing Success is called LSI.
Google is now using a concept known as Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) which has made the idea of keyword density obsolete. This is simply a newer way for the robots to analyze web content.
Remember, keywords are vital to ranking with the search engines since they use those keywords to identify the subject matter of your content correctly. Add to that knowledge the theory of LSI, which is that certain words or terms naturally belong together.
Let's simplify this with an example. According to LSI theory, if you wrote an article about Microsoft then the name Bill Gates should naturally appear somewhere within the article. Instead of just looking for the keyword Microsoft, the search robot will look for that name to qualify the meaning of the article. The Google search algorithm is now far more accurate.
Instead of just writing keyword rich articles you need to create articles optimized for LSI.
You do this by creating your articles around two or three closely related keyword phrases. You need one main keyword phrase with one or two (but no more) secondary keyword phrases for each article.
To get a better idea of how to select main and secondary keyword phrases, look at this keyword search run for the key phrase "dog training" using the free Word Tracker keyword research tool.
|
Note: |

According to Word Tracker, well over 3,000 people search Google for information on dog training on any given day. The majority of these people type in the term ‘dog training' to find this information. Yet, when you look all the way down the ‘snapshot' of keywords provided by Word Tracker, you realize there are many other terms searched for daily as well.
There is no hard and fast rule regarding the number of searches a day a term needs to be considered a main keyword phrase, but a marketing strategy and an approximate rule of thumb, look for those that occupy 1% or more of the total searches shown at the top of the chart.
In our example, with just over 3000 searches every day, I would consider all phrases that receive 30 daily searches or more an option for a main keyword phrase. Anything below 30 searches becomes a secondary phrase.
Yet, you will likely use all of these keyword phrases at some point in your marketing strategy, so it doesn't really matter how you mix them together. Just make sure there are at least a couple of keyword phrases in every article. It is extremely important that the articles are easy to read and informative as well.
The Fourth Secret to Internet Marketing Success is evaluating the competition. Again, if you use Site Build It, this step will be done for you automatically.
Once you have a list of phrases (try and get 25 - 50 or so), the next thing you need to do next is determine which phrases you can realistically rank for in Google. This is done by evaluating your competition. I’m going to use an example on ‘Forex Trading’.
There would be no point in targeting a phrase such as ‘Forex’, because of such high competition. So, an Article Internet Marketing Tip is to go for longer tail keywords and phrases. These are the ones you need to go for.
The best way of checking the competition and whether you can target a certain phrase is to do a ‘phrase search’ on Google. Type the phrase you want to evaluate into the search bar and then put quotation marks around it as shown below:

In this example, I have done a ‘phrase search’ for the term, “best forex trading software”. Take note of how many results there are for each phrase you type in. In this instance, this term has 28,200 results in total…
Now although that may seem like a lot it really isn’t. As a general rule, you can
target almost any phrase that has under 35,000 results using Ezinearticles.
The Fifth Secret to Internet Marketing Success is writing articles that people will read.
The first writing tip is to create an eye-catching title that includes your main keyword phrase. Most readers will use this title to determine whether they want to read the article or not, so do not underestimate the importance of your title.
On some level, consciously or not, all readers will be asking themselves one question when they see your title: what's in it for me? They want you to openly provide the answer, right from word one. If you don't, then they will probably not click to read the full article.
This is why so many experienced article marketers suggest spending at least half of your time creating a "knock their socks off" eye-grabbing title. In other words, boring titles are the sign of death for even the most brilliantly written articles.
Forming valid questions is one way to create a great title. Here are some examples that should help you come up with some ideas for your own market:
- Want to Lose 10 Pounds in 5 Days? Our Secret Weight Loss Remedies Shrink Fat Cells Fast!'
- Is Your Spouse Cheating? 4 Strategies to Know For Sure...And End Doubt NOW!'
It's a rather simple formula - a question followed up with a compelling benefit.
You can also create a compelling title by being very precise about the information presented in your article:
Example: Discover 4 Simple Steps That Earned Me Nearly $7,000 EVERY Week!
Precision of this nature implies that the information has been proven by personal experience, which in turn suggests that it is accurate and effective.
Starting with the first word in your title, apply the AIDA principle to your article writing:
- Attention. Your title MUST grab attention from readers interested in your topic.
- Interest. Whatever it is you are offering, you have to make a reader browsing through develop an interest in learning more.
- Desire. You have to compel a reader to desire whatever it is you are pushing. Make them want to know more or want to buy something.
- Action. This is the most important aspect. Make your readers take real action, whether it be clicking through to a site or making a purchase.
You are basically using the age-old theory of advertising in your favor here. You do whatever is necessary to convince your targeted consumer to do what you want them to do, immediately. In the end, if they read your article and don't click through to pay your site a visit on the spot, they are never going to do so! It is quite literally now or never.
Your article should clearly paint a picture of the benefits to be gained by following your advice. Make it very clear what will happen if the reader does not take the action you are recommending to them. Tell them how the product you recommend is to be used and how it will enhance their life.
Finally, make it very clear that right now is the time for action and what action needs to be taken. You might be surprised to see how many people really take the action you recommend if you give very clear instructions as to what needs to be done.
When it comes to the final call to action that ends each article, do not outright name the final action you ultimately want your reader to take, such as making a purchase. If that sounds strange, bear with me. It will all make sense in a moment.
Every article that you submit to a directory will ultimately be designed to promote your business. That is their sole purpose. Therefore, when you officially make the submissions to directories you will upload supporting information along with the article.
It starts off with a summary of your article. This just needs to be 2-3 sentences total.
Another article Internet marketing tip is, don’t be lazy. Lazy article marketers cut corners here by just using the first few lines from their actual article. This is a fast way to come up with a summary, but it is also a huge mistake.
There are many different article directories out there, but some are more popular with the search engines than others. For instance, the leading directory right now is clearly EzineArticles and articles submitted their routinely appear in the Google top 10 search results.
When this happens, the short summary of your article that you upload at the time of submission will be shown on the search results page. It will show up in black directly beneath your title, which is a blue link to your article in the directory. It looks like this:

Obviously, if your summary is not very persuasive or attention-grabbing, many searchers will overlook it and click something else. This is why using the first few sentences of your article as your short summary can backfire big time.
You will also have to add a list of keyword phrases with your submission. Most directories limit the number of characters you can use, but use as many of them as allowed. You want to list as many keywords here as possible.
Finally, you will also have to submit what is known as the "resource box." This is simply a short description that introduces the reader to who you are and what your business offers. Most marketers will use the resource box exactly as it was intended by adding information regarding their personal history or their business. But, you aren't going to do it like that! You won't do that because you will know that there is a more effective Internet marketing strategy.
Write your resource box as if it is the final paragraph of your article. This is where you stress the importance of taking action immediately.
You will be allowed to add links to your site is through this resource box, so that is where a call to action should be. There is generally a rule limiting you to include no more than three active hyperlinks. I recommend including one hyperlink directly to the URL that you ultimately want the reader to visit plus one more hyperlink to the main keyword term that your article was written around.
The Sixth Secret to Internet Marketing Success is writing articles with anchor text links and photographs.
An anchor text link is more valuable than just a link to - www yoursite com. For example if your key phrase is ‘Clinique Wrapping Perfume’, then make this phrase as a hyperlink to your site. See the example below.
One last tip before uploading your article: check if the directory allows you to upload photographs that compliment the article and whether those photographs are published next your resource box (as they are by EzineArticles, shown here:)

You might notice the photograph immediately draws your attention to the resource box. You always want to add this personal touch if possible.
When you are ready to submit, you will have a few choices of how you upload your article and accompanying materials.
The first option is to upload to only the half dozen or so leading article directories. This is usually done with the rationale that the majority of your site traffic will come from these directories anyway. If you want to follow this approach, then these are the leading directories to submit to:
http://www.articlecity.com/article_submission.shtml
http://www.articledashboard.com/
http://goarticles.com/index.html
Since EzineArticles only accepts completely unique articles and they are the most powerful directory that you absolutely want in on, submit there first. Wait until your article has been published with EzineArticles before you submit it anywhere else.
There are many different advantages to promoting with article marketing.
First, readers who enjoy your articles will click through to your site to see what else you have to offer them.
Second, other webmasters and even bloggers may download your articles and republish them on their own sites. You will then be exposed to more people who may increase traffic to your site.
Third, you gain a one-way incoming link for every time your article is published through a directory or on another webmaster's site or in a blog.
Finally, articles from the leading directories are highly rated by Google and the other search engines, which make it possible for your article to pull increased traffic to your site via the search engines.
Once your articles are published, they will be displayed on those directories for months if not years to come. This means they are a long-term traffic generating tool, which is very valuable to your marketing plan.
The more articles you publish, the more traffic you have the potential of driving to your site. Try to set a goal of writing at least 4-5 articles every week. Over the course of a single year, that will yield 200-300 articles published. From that effort alone, you should be able to generate a healthy profit month after month.

One last Secret to Internet Marketing Success.
Here’s a little article Internet marketing tip to get your Ezine Article even more traffic.
The trick here is that we want to get our article into the “top 15 most viewed articles” for the category we’re submitting to.
Getting the article into that list, will ensure MANY more views, and lots more SEO (link juice) for the article…so, not only will more people read it from Ezine directly, but it will climb the organic search engine listings MUCH faster.
This is a lot easier than it sounds…when you have a little trick up your sleeve.
Here’s how it’s done. ..
• Firstly, submit the article and get it published.
• Then view your article on Ezine, and look down to where it says “Most Viewed EzineArticles in XXXX (whatever your category was) Category
(90 Days)”. Here’s an example…

Click on the last article in that list (#15) and view it, taking note of how many times it’s been viewed. That info is way down at the bottom, and is typically 100-200 views.
• Head on over to your secret weapon (www.mturk.com)
• Set up HITS (outside the scope of this document, but WELL explained on this site) for people to view and vote (4-5 stars) on your article.
• Set the number of HITS to be 5-10 more than that article #15 was viewed and pay $.05 each for them.
• For those of you who don’t know what HITS are etc. , essentially…you’re paying people $.05 to just view and rate your article.
Bottom line…for $5-10, you can DRAMATICALLY increase the effectiveness of just one article by getting a higher listing in Google and consequently getting $100’s , if not $1000’s worth of clicks over time.
IMPORTANT ARTICLE INTERNET MARKETING TIP – Even if your article is in the top 15, it won’t show up whilst actually viewing your own article on the Ezinearticles site. Just go to another article on the list (in the same category), look at the list again and you’ll see it.
